 Michael N. McGrann – Managing Principal

Michael N. McGrann

Mike McGrann is the Managing Principal of The TELOS Group and the Executive Director of the S. Dale High Center for Family Business at Elizabethtown College. He has extensive experience in corporate restructuring and holding company strategy for large family groups, particularly in Latin America. Mike teaches seminars on how to establish a shareholder’s strategic options continuum, build consensus around shareholder investment philosophy, return expectations, and risk profile. Mike has worked on economic development projects, as a corporate lending officer in a New York bank, and as a consultant with the Wharton Small Business Development Center. He holds an MBA from the Wharton School, an MA in International Studies from the University of Pennsylvania, and a BA in Economics from Cornell University.

 

William H. Alexander - Senior Associate

William H. Alexander

Bill Alexander is a professor of family business studies at the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business. He teaches in the course “Strategies and Practices for Managing Family Controlled Companies” and the “Managing Transitions Seminar.” In 2010, he was appointed as the Executive-in-Residence at the S. Dale High Center for Family Business at Elizabethtown College. His areas of consulting focus are governance structures, implementing effective boards of directors, successor professional empowerment, and the succession process. Bill is also a third-generation family business CEO of a $200 million construction company and has gone through two successions in his business. Bill serves on numerous boards, including the Hershey Foods Corporation and Hershey Trust Company. He holds an engineering degree from the United States Military Academy at West Point and an MBA from the Universtiy of Pittsburgh.

 

Dr. Stephen R. Treat – Senior Associate

Dr. Stephen R. Treat

Steve is a senior therapist at the Council for Relationships in Philadelphia, Associate Director of Training, Director of the Clergy Training Program, and an instructor of doctoral and undergraduate courses. He is also an Adjunct Professor of Marriage and Family ministry at the Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary, and an Adjunct Professor at Hahnemann Medical College, Department of Family Studies. Steve delivers seminars on various subjects relating to individual and family communication, and organizational effectiveness. He has extensive consulting experience in addressing marriage and family dynamics with family members who work together. He has also written several books on marriage therapy. Steve holds a B.A. Degree, a M. Div. in Counseling and a Doctorate of Ministry from Andover-Newton Theological Seminary.
